Fasting and Dieting?

    Is there any difference between fasting and dieting? Why have our forefathers prescribed fasting on various occasions, is there any specific reason behind this?

    Fasting and dieting are two separate things. There is a reason why our forefathers (and this is a practice in all religions) have advised us to fast. Let me try and explain the difference between the two

    Here are two conditions
    1. You eat a heavy meal on a day.
    2. You eat the same meal divided into ten proportions at different times on the same day.

    You will put on weight if you follow the second suit. This is because our digestive system is not efficient. A lot of garbage, which would have gone out of system, will not go out of the system because constantly the stomach is full. When there is food in the stomach, when the digestion takes place, the excretory system does not function very efficiently. Only when the stomach is totally empty, the cleansing happens well.

    Once in every 11 to 14 days, you may not feel like eating. During those days we are not supposed to eat. The animals like dogs and cats have this awareness? Have you noticed that on certain days, they will not eat? It is because they are aware of their system. On the day the system says “no food,” they will not eat. Since we don’t have this awareness, they fixed Ekadashi. Ekadashi comes once in every 14 days in the lunar calendar. At least every 14 days, you could go without food. If you are unable to go without food, then you could go on a fruit diet or have low calorie food. Just observe your own system, and you may notice that on certain days, you do not really need to eat.

    Dieting is when you regulate your food intake to achieve or maintain a controlled weight. Generally speaking, a diet is the sum of food that you consume

    Fasting and Dieting are two different thing which is used for different purpose.Fasting is used in worship ceremony and dieting is used in body fitness and other thing

    Fasting is a state where you stay fasted to attain clarity of mind because scientifically with fasting you attain autophagy and in dieting you do it to attain loss of weight

    fasting is used in worshiping and dieting is done for the body fittness
