There are certain practices that are relevant even today and will be relevant as long as humans exists. A few of them are:

    1) Drinking three drops of water early in the morning with an empty stomach. This clears the food pipe / oesophagus of all things unnecessary, especially phlegm.
    2) The touching of different parts of the face with different fingers is a way to activate the key accupoints on the face and fingers to make us energized for the day.
    3) Upavaasa or Fasting is another practice that is relevant. It helps us clean our body.
    4) The pranayama is a popular breathing exercise which clears up the wind pipe and prevents the incidence of diseases.
    5) The direction you face (the sun) gives you not just freshness but also the necessary vitamins ( Vitamin D) at different times of the day.
    6) The posture (sitting with your hands inside of your legs, with the legs bent at the knees) is an exercise to the body, in itself.
    7) Rendering all the shlokas is a way to train and exercise your mind.
    8) The practice of Yoga is proven to be one of the most complete form of exercise for the body. Pratice everyday and it helps us keep our health.

I agree with Nehas post. All those mentioned by Meha still holds a relevance and significance in our society today. In addition to it are:

    1) Ayurveda – The Ayurveda system of medicine has only grown its significance in the past few decades with many more people trying out a combination of Ayurveda, Naturopathy etc for treating diseases.

    2) Yoga – The various forms of Yoga has grown in its importance today with even the western world embracing it. The International Yoga day only validates the importance of Yoga in today’s world.

    3) The traditional Bharatiya dance is highly spiritual and often accompanies important religious rituals and holy days and festivals. Vedic dance goes back to prehistoric times. Bharata Muni wrote his Natya Shastra, science of drama and dance, over 2000 years ago. In it he explains that it was Lord Brahma, the secondary engineer of the universal creation, who brought dance (natya) and drama to the people of Earth millions of years ago, shortly after Earth was created.

    4) Japa or chanting of Mantra. It’s an age old practice from the Vedic times and chanting of these mantras still gives a lot of peace and relaxation. The vibrations generated by chanting these mantras have scientifically proven to give good energy to people.
