Goddess Durga is worshiped in different forms among the Hindus. Nau Durga are the nine manifestations of Goddess Durga that hold the paramount position in Hindu Mythology. It is believed that paying homage to these forms of Goddess makes the devotee free from all the sins and wrongdoings. There are nine major abodes of Goddess Shakti. Seven abodes are in Himachal Pradesh, one is in Jammu and remaining one is in Chandigarh. The devotees swarm these pilgrimages to drench themselves in spirituality.

Get to cover the nine main abodes of the Shakti Devi. The main temples are: Mata Mansa Devi Temple, Chintpurni, Naina Devi Temple, Chamunda Devi Temple, Mata Jwala ji Temple, Brijeshwari Temple, Sheetla Devi Temple, and Vaishno Devi Temple.

Itinerary Details

Day 1 – Delhi – Chandigarh

On reaching Delhi, start driving to Chandigarh. On the way, visit Mata Mansa Devi temple, a place of immense religious importance. After Darshan, get back to Chandigarh. Once you check into the hotel, enjoy the sightseeing at the popular attractions of Chandigarh like Sukhaa Lake, Rock Garden and Tower of Shadows and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 2 – Chandigarh – Nainadevi – Chintrpurni – Sheetladevi – Kangra

The second day starts with a drive to Naina Devi Temple, Bilaspur. You can reach the place through cable car, which will take you to the hill top where the temple is positioned. Naina Devi Temple is one of the most important places of worship of Himachal Pradesh and is considered to be one of the most powerful 51 Shakti Peethas. With Naina meaning eye, this place is revered as the place where Sati Devi’s eyes fell down. Further, drive to Sheetla Devi Temple, which is also one among the Shakti Peethas, followed by the travel to Chintpurni temple. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 – Kangra – Jwala ji

In the morning, start driving to the Dharmashala and check into your pre-booked resort over there. Visit Mata Jwala Ji Temple for Darshan. This temple is believed to have nine permanent flames that have been named after goddesses- Mahakali, Unpurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Bindhya Basni, Maha Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika and Anji Devi. Travel further to get the blessings of Maa Bhagula Mukhi, the mother of Knowledge, followed by the visit to Kangra Devi Temple. Stay overnight at Kangra.

Day 4 – Kangra – Chamunda Devi – Dharmashala – Dalai lama Monastery

Take a drive to Chamunda Devi Temple in the morning and the afternoon is for the sightseeing tour of Dharmashala. Visit some eye-catching attractions like Dalai Lama Monastery and Bhagsu Nag temple followed by the overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 – Dharmashala – Katra

Start driving towards Katra via Jammu and check into the hotel at Katra. This day is free for leisurely activities. You get to explore places of Katra, followed by the overnight stay at the same.

Day 6 – Katra Vaishno Devi

The sixth day is to get the blessings of Goddess Vaishno Devi. Transfer to the Vaishno Devi Shrine early in the morning. It is strongly believed that no prayers go unanswered here in the abode of Goddess Vaishno Devi. After Darshan, trek back to Katra for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 7 – Katra – Amritsar

Start your drive to Amristar and on the way, visit Wagah border. The Wagah border ceremony is organized every day at the border every evening. Later, get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 8 – Amritsar – Delhi

Post breakfast, check out from the hotel. First is to visit the Golden temple, followed by the visit to Jalllianwala Bagh, a historical area that commemorates the massacre commissioned by General Dyer during the British Rule. You will be dropped at the Airport/Railway Station for further journey.
