Narayana Kavacham

 

राजोवाच ।

यया गुप्तः सहस्राक्षः सवाहान्रिपुसैनिकान् ।
क्रीडन्निव विनिर्जित्य त्रिलोक्या बुभुजे श्रियम् ॥ १॥

Yaya guptha sahasraksha savaahaan ripu sainikan,
Kreedanniva vinirjithya trilokya bhubhuje sriyam., 1

యయా గుప్తః సహస్రాక్షః సవాహాన్ రిపుసైనికాన్ |
క్రీడన్నివ వినిర్జిత్య త్రిలోక్యం బుభుజే శ్రియమ్ || ౧ ||

യയാ ഗുപ്തഃ സഹസ്ത്രാക്ഷഃ സവാഹാന് രിപുസൈനികാന് ।
ക്രീഡന്നിവ വിനിര്ജിത്യ ത്രിലോക്യാ ബുഭുജേ ശ്രിയമ് ॥ 1 ॥

भगवंस्तन्ममाख्याहि वर्म नारायणात्मकम् ।
यथाऽऽततायिनः शत्रून् येन गुप्तोऽजयन्मृधे ॥ २॥

Bhagawam sthan mamakhyahi varma narayanathmakam,
Yadha athathayina shathroon yena guptho jayan mrudhe., 2

భగవంస్తన్మమాఖ్యాహి వర్మ నారాయణాత్మకమ్ |
యథాఽఽతతాయినః శత్రూన్ యేన గుప్తోఽజయన్మృధే || ౨ ||

ഭഗവംസ്തന്മമാഖ്യാഹി വര്മ നാരായണാത്മകമ് ।
യഥാസ്സ്തതായിനഃ ശത്രൂന് യേന ഗുപ്തോസ്ജയന്മൃധേ ॥ 2 ॥

Meaning of 1 & 2: Oh God please share with me that armour of Narayana,
By which the thousand eyed Indra was able to drive away,
The well armed soldiers of his enemy as if it is a play,
And gain control of the three worlds and wealth,
And also was safe in the battle field and became victorious.


श्रीशुक उवाच ।

वृतः पुरोहितस्त्वाष्ट्रो महेन्द्रायानुपृच्छते ।
नारायणाख्यं वर्माह तदिहैकमनाः श‍ृणु ॥ ३॥

Vrutha, purohitha thwashtro mahendra yanu pruchathe,
Narayanakhyam varmaha thadihaika mana srunu., 3

వృతః పురోహితస్త్వాష్ట్రో మహేన్ద్రాయానుపృచ్ఛతే |
నారాయణాఖ్యం వర్మాహ తదిహైకమనాః శ్రుణు || ౩ ||

വൃതഃ പുരോഹിതോസ്ത്വാഷ്ട്രോ മഹേന്ദ്രായാനുപൃച്ഛതേ ।
നാരായണാഖ്യം വര്മാഹ തദിഹൈകമനാഃ ശൃണു ॥ 3 ॥

Meaning: Viswaroopa the son of Thwashtra, when he was made,
The priest Of Indra taught him this armour of Narayana,
And I will teach you that and please listen to it with concentration.


विश्वरूप उवाच ।

धौताङ्घ्रिपाणिराचम्य सपवित्र उदङ्मुखः ।
कृतस्वाङ्गकरन्यासो मन्त्राभ्यां वाग्यतः शुचिः ॥ ४॥

Dhouthangri panir achamya sapavithra udang mukha,
Kruthaswa anga kara nyaso manthrabhyam vagyatha suchi., 4

ధౌతాంఘ్రిపాణిరాచమ్య సపవిత్ర ఉదఙ్ముఖః |
కృతస్వాంగకరన్యాసో మన్త్రాభ్యాం వాగ్యతః శుచిః || ౪ ||

വിശ്വരൂപ ഉവാചധൗതാങ്ഘ്രിപാണിരാചമ്യ സപവിത്ര ഉദങ് മുഖഃ ।
കൃതസ്വാങ്ഗകരന്യാസോ മന്ത്രാഭ്യാം വാഗ്യതഃ ശുചിഃ ॥ 4 ॥

नारायणमयं वर्म सन्नह्येद्भय आगते ।
पादयोर्जानुनोरूर्वोरुदरे हृद्यथोरसि ॥ ५॥

Narayana mayam varma sannahyedh bhaya agathe,
Padyor janu noruvor udhare hrudhyadhorasi., 5

నారాయణమయం వర్మ సన్నహ్యేద్భయ ఆగతే |
పాదయోర్జానునోరూర్వోరుదరే హృద్యథోరసి || ౫ ||

നാരായണമയം വര്മ സംനഹ്യേദ് ഭയ ആഗതേ ।
പാദയോര്ജാനുനോരൂര്വോരൂദരേ ഹൃദ്യഥോരസി ॥ 5 ॥

मुखे शिरस्यानुपूर्व्यादोंकारादीनि विन्यसेत् ।
ॐ नमो नारायणायेति विपर्ययमथापि वा ॥ ६॥

Mukhe sirasya anu poorva omgaradheeni vinyaseth,
Om namo narayanethi viparyaya madhapi vaa., 6

ముఖే శిరస్యానుపూర్వ్యాదోంకారాదీని విన్యసేత్ |
ఓం నమో నారాయణాయేతి విపర్యయమథాపి వా || ౬ ||

മുഖേ ശിരസ്യാനുപൂര്വ്യാദോംകാരാദീനി വിന്യസേത് ।
ഓം നമോ നാരായണായേതി വിപര്യയമഥാപി വാ ॥ 6 ॥

Meaning of 4, 5 & 6: When fear approaches you, after washing your feet and hand,
Do internal purification by achamana, wear the holy ring made of Durba,
Face the north, sit on a seat of Durba grass and do the hand Symbols,
And do holy chants and attain cleanliness of speech.
You should then become silent, become engrossed in Narayana,
And do suitable actions to tie yourself with the armour of Narayana,
And using the eight letters starting with Om, touch the feet,
Knees, thighs, belly heart chest, face and head.


करन्यासं ततः कुर्याद्द्वादशाक्षरविद्यया ।
प्रणवादियकारान्तमङ्गुल्यङ्गुष्ठपर्वसु ॥ ७॥

Kara nyasam Thatha kuryad dwadasakshara vidhyaya,
Pranavadhi yakarandha mangulyam angushta parvasu., 7

కరన్యాసం తతః కుర్యాద్ద్వాదశాక్షరవిద్యయా |
ప్రణవాదియకారాన్తమంగుల్యంగుష్ఠపర్వసు || ౭ ||

കരന്യാസം തതഃ കുര്യാദ് ദ്വാദശാക്ഷരവിദ്യയാ ।
പ്രണവാദിയകാരന്തമങ്ഗുല്യങ്ഗുഷ്ഠപര്വസു ॥ 7 ॥

न्यसेद्धृदय ओङ्कारं विकारमनु मूर्धनि ।
षकारं तु भ्रुवोर्मध्ये णकारं शिखया दिशेत् ॥ ८॥

Nyased drudaya omkaram vikara manu moordhani,
Shakaranthu brovor madhye nakaram shikhayam nyased., 8

న్యసేద్దృదయ ఓంకారం వికారమను మూర్ధనీ |
షకారం తు భ్రువోర్మధ్యే ణకారం శిఖయాదిశేత్ || ౮ ||

ന്യസേദ് ഹൃദയ ഓങ്കാരം വികാരമനു മൂര്ധനി ।
ഷകാരം തു ഭ്രുവോര്മധ്യേ ണകാരം ശിഖയാ ദിശേത് ॥ 8 ॥

Meaning of 7 & 8: Then after touching the eight parts of the body,
The feet, Knees, thighs, belly heart chest, face and head,
Chanting the eight letter Manthra “Om Namo Narayanaya”
Either in an ascending or descending order,
You have to perform the knowledge of the twelve letters,


वेकारं नेत्रयोर्युञ्ज्यान्नकारं सर्वसन्धिषु ।
मकारमस्त्रमुद्दिश्य मन्त्रमूर्तिर्भवेद्बुधः ॥ ९॥

Vekaram nethrayor yunjyannakaram sarva sandhishu.,
Makara masthra mudhisya mantha moorthir bhaved budha., 9

వేకారం నేత్రయోర్యుంజ్యాన్నకారం సర్వసంధిషు |
మకారమస్త్రముద్దిశ్య మన్త్రమూర్తిర్భవేద్బుధః || ౯ ||

വേകാരം നേത്രയോര്യുഞ്ജ്യാന്നകാരം സര്വസന്ധിഷു ।
മകാരമസ്ത്രമുദ്ദിശ്യ മന്ത്രമൂര്തിര്ഭവേദ് ബുധഃ ॥ 9 ॥

सविसर्गं फडन्तं तत् सर्वदिक्षु विनिर्दिशेत् ।
ॐ विष्णवे नम इति ॥ १०॥

Sarva sanga shadantham thath sarva dikshu vinirdisheth,
Om Vishnava nama ithi., 10

సవిసర్గం ఫడన్తం తత్ సర్వదిక్షు వినిర్దిశేత్ |
ఓం విష్ణవే నమః || ౧౦ ||

സവിസര്ഗം ഫഡന്തം തത് സര്വദിക്ഷു വിനിര്ദിശേത് ।
ഓം വിഷ്ണവേ നമ ഇതി ॥ 10 ॥

Meaning of 9 & 10: Tell “Sha” and touch the middle of the eye brows,
Tell “Na” and touch the top of the hair on your head
Tell “Ve” and touch both your eyes,
Tell “Na” and touch all your joints,
Facing all directions and say “Ma Asthraya Phat”,
This would make even the dim witted in to a wise one,
And thus you tie all the six directions as directed,
And chant “Om salutations to Lord Vishnu”


आत्मानं परमं ध्यायेद्ध्येयं षट्शक्तिभिर्युतम् ।
विद्यातेजस्तपोमूर्तिमिमं मन्त्रमुदाहरेत् ॥ ११॥

Athmanam paramam dhyeyed dhyeyam shad shakthibhir yudham,
Vidhya thejas thapo murthim imam manthra mudhahareth.,11

ఆత్మానం పరం ధ్యాయేద్ధ్యేయం షట్ఛక్తిభిర్యుతమ్ |
విద్యాతేజస్తపోమూర్తి మిమం మన్త్రముదాహరేత్ || ౧౧ ||

ആത്മാനം പരമം ധ്യായേദ ധ്യേയം ഷട്ശക്തിഭിര്യുതമ് ।
വിദ്യാതേജസ്തപോമൂര്തിമിമം മന്ത്രമുദാഹരേത ॥ 11 ॥

Meaning: Afterwards meditate on Athma supported by the six strengths,
Of Wealth, charity, fame, goddess of wealth, wisdom and renunciation,
And chant the following which has the form of knowledge, power and meditation.


ॐ हरिर्विदध्यान्मम सर्वरक्षां न्यस्ताङ्घ्रिपद्मः पतगेन्द्रपृष्ठे ।
दरारिचर्मासिगदेषुचाप-पाशान्दधानोऽष्टगुणोऽष्टबाहुः ॥ १२॥

Om harir vidhadhyan mama sarva raksham Nyashngir padma padgendra prushte,
Dharari charmasi gadheshu chapa Pasan dadhano ashtaguno ashta bahu., 12

ఓం హరిర్విదధ్యాన్మమ సర్వరక్షాం న్యస్తాంఘ్రిపద్మః పతగేంద్రపృష్ఠే |
దరారిచర్మాసిగదేషుచాప-పాశాందధానోఽష్టగుణోఽష్టబాహుః || ౧౨ ||

ഓം ഹരിര്വിദധ്യാന്മമ സര്വരക്ഷാം ന്യസ്താങ്ഘ്രിപദ്മഃ പതഗേന്ദ്രപൃഷ്ഠേ ।
ദരാരിചര്മാസിഗദേഷുചാപാശാന് ദധാനോസ്ഷ്ടഗുണോസ്ഷ്ടബാഹുഃ ॥ 12 ॥

Meaning: May all the protection to me be given by Hari,
Who keeps his lotus feet on the back of the bird,
Who is armed with conch, wheel, sword, mace,
Bow and a rope and who has eight qualities and eight hands.


जलेषु मां रक्षतु मत्स्यमूर्ति-र्यादोगणेभ्यो वरुणस्य पाशात् ।
स्थलेषु मायावटुवामनोऽव्यात्त्रि विक्रमः खेऽवतु विश्वरूपः ॥ १३॥

Jaleshu maam rakshathu mathsya moorthir, Yadho ganebhyo varunasya pasad,
Sthaleshu maya vatu vamano avyal, Trivikrama khevadu viswaroopa., 13

జలేషు మాం రక్షతు మత్స్యమూర్తి-ర్యాదోగణేభ్యో వరుణస్య పాశాత్ |
స్థలేషు మాయావటువామనోఽవ్యా త్రివిక్రమః సోఽవతు విశ్వరూపః || ౧౩ ||

ജലേഷു മാം രക്ഷതു മത്സ്യമൂര്തിര്യാദോഗണേഭ്യോ വരൂണസ്യ പാശാത് ।
സ്ഥലേഷു മായാവടുവാമനോസ്വ്യാത് ത്രിവിക്രമഃ ഖേ‌உവതു വിശ്വരൂപഃ ॥ 13 ॥

Meaning: Let me be protected in the water by Fish incarnation,
From the animals of the sea and rope of Varuna,
Let me be protected in the Land by Vamana, the illusory boy,
And in the sky Trivikrama and viswaroopa forms.


दुर्गेष्वटव्याजिमुखादिषु प्रभुः पायान्नृसिंहोऽसुरयूथपारिः ।
विमुञ्चतो यस्य महाट्टहासं दिशो विनेदुर्न्यपतंश्च गर्भाः ॥ १४॥

Durgesh atavyaji mukhadhishu Prabhu, Payanrusimho asura yoodha pari,
Vimunchatho yasya mahattahasam, Dhiso vinedhur anya pathangascha Garbha., 14

దుర్గేష్వటవ్యాజిముఖాదిషు ప్రభుః పాయాన్నృసింహోఽసురయూథపారిః |
విముంచతో యస్య మహాట్టహాసం దిశో వినేదుర్న్యపతంశ్చ గర్భాః || ౧౪ ||

ദുര്ഗേഷ്വടവ്യാജിമുഖാദിഷു പ്രഭുഃ പായാന്നൃസിംഹോ‌உസുരയുഥപാരിഃ ।
വിമുഞ്ചതോ യസ്യ മഹാട്ടഹാസം ദിശോ വിനേദുര്ന്യപതംശ്ച ഗര്ഭാഃ ॥ 14 ॥

Meaning: In forts, forests, dangerous places and in war,
Let me be protected by Lord Narasimha,
Who by his mighty roar shook all directions,
Broke open the army formation of Asura,
And caused pregnant asura Women to abort.


रक्षत्वसौ माध्वनि यज्ञकल्पः स्वदंष्ट्रयोन्नीतधरो वराहः ।
रामोऽद्रिकूटेष्वथ विप्रवासे सलक्ष्मणोऽव्याद्भरताग्रजोऽस्मान् ॥ १५॥

Rakshathwasou maadhwani Yajna Kalpa, Swadamshtrayoth patha dharo varaha,
Ramo aadhrikooteshwadha vipravase, Sa lakshmanovyadh bharathagrajo maam., 15

రక్షత్వసౌ మా౽ ధ్వని యజ్ఞకల్పః స్వదంష్ట్రయోన్నీతధరో వరాహః |
రామోఽద్రికూటేష్వథ విప్రవాసే సలక్ష్మణోఽవ్యాద్భరతాగ్రజోమామ్ || ౧౫ ||

രക്ഷത്വസൗ മാധ്വനി യജ്ഞകല്പഃ സ്വദംഷ്ട്രയോന്നീതധരോ വരാഹഃ ।
രാമോ‌உദ്രികൂടേഷ്വഥ വിപ്രവാസേ സലക്ഷ്മണോസ്വ്യാദ് ഭരതാഗ്രജോസ്സ്മാന് ॥ 15 ॥

Meaning: Let me be protected on my way by Lord Varaha,
Who is Yagna personified and who by his protruding teeth,
Lifted and carried the earth to safety,
Let me be protected on mountain top by Lord Parasurama
Let me be protected when I am abroad By Lord Rama,
Who is elder brother of Bharatha and Lakshmana.


मामुग्रधर्मादखिलात्प्रमादा-न्नारायणः पातु नरश्च हासात् ।
दत्तस्त्वयोगादथ योगनाथः पायाद्गुणेशः कपिलः कर्मबन्धात् ॥ १६॥

Mamugra dharmad akhilath pramadath, Narayana pathu narascha hasath,
Dathaswa yogad adha Yoga natha, Payadh Gunesa kapila Karma bandath., 16

మాముగ్రధర్మాదఖిలాత్ప్రమాదా-న్నారాయణః పాతు నరశ్చ హాసాత్ |
దత్తస్త్వయోగాదథ యోగనాథః పాయాద్గుణేశః కపిలః కర్మబంధాత్ || ౧౬ ||

മാമുഗ്രധര്മാദഖിലാത് പ്രമാദാന്നാരായണഃ പാതു നരശ്ച ഹാസാത് ।
ദത്തസ്ത്വയോഗാദഥ യോഗനാഥഃ പായാദ് ഗുണേശഃ കപിലഃ കര്മബന്ധാത് ॥ 16 ॥

Meaning: Let me be protected by Lord Narayana,
When I am transgressing Dharma or committing mistakes,
Let me be protected from my pride by Sage Nara,
Let me protected by Sage Dathathreya,
For not engaging in Yoga, meditation and other activities
And let sage Kapila protect me from the bondage of Karma.


सनत्कुमारोऽवतु कामदेवा-द्धयशीर्षा मां पथि देवहेलनात् ।
देवर्षिवर्यः पुरुषार्चनान्तरात् कूर्मो हरिर्मां निरयादशेषात् ॥ १७॥

Sanath kumaro aavathu Kama devath, Hayanano maam padhi deva helanath,
Devarshi varya purusharcha nantharath, Koormo harir maam nirayadh aseshath., 17

సనత్కుమారోఽవతు కామదేవాత్ హయాననో మాం పథి దేవహేలనాత్ |
దేవర్షివర్యః పురుషార్చనాంతరాత్ కూర్మో హరిర్మాం నిరయాదశేషాత్ || ౧౭ ||

സനത്കുമാരോ വതു കാമദേവാദ്ധയശീര്ഷാ മാം പഥി ദേവഹേലനാത് ।
ദേവര്ഷിവര്യഃ പുരൂഷാര്ചനാന്തരാത് കൂര്മോ ഹരിര്മാം നിരയാദശേഷാത് ॥ 17 ॥

Meaning: Let sage Sanath Kumara protect me from the cupid,
Let Lord Hayagreeva protect me while I am on travel,
As well as when I do action that insults the Devas,
Let Sage Narada protect me from sins of non worship of devas,
And let Hari who took the form of a tortoise,
Protect me from different types of hell.


धन्वन्तरिर्भगवान्पात्वपथ्या-द्द्वन्द्वाद्भयादृषभो निर्जितात्मा ।
यज्ञश्च लोकादवताञ्ज्जनान्ता-द्बलो गणात्क्रोधवशादहीन्द्रः ॥ १८॥

Dhanwandarir bhagawan pathway padhyath, Dwandwadh bhayad rushabho nirjithama,
Yajnascha loka devathaa janandath, Balo ganath krodha vasadh aheendra., 18

ధన్వంతరిర్భగవాన్పాత్వపథ్యా-ద్ద్వంద్వాద్భయాదృషభో నిర్జితాత్మా |
యజ్ఞశ్చ లోకాదవతాజ్జనాంతా-ద్బలో గణాత్క్రోధవశాదహీంద్రః || ౧౮ ||

ധന്വന്തരിര്ഭഗവാന് പാത്വപഥ്യാദ് ദ്വന്ദ്വാദ് ഭയാദൃഷഭോ നിര്ജിതാത്മാ ।
യജ്ഞശ്ച ലോകാദവതാജ്ജനാന്താദ് ബലോ ഗണാത് ക്രോധവശാദഹീന്ദ്രഃ ॥ 18 ॥

Meaning: Let Lord Dhanwanthari protect me from unsuitable food,
Let Rishabha, the renounced soul protect me.
From fear of the contradictory dualities,
Let Sage Yajna protect me from gossip of society,
Let Lord Balarama protect me from problems created by men,
And let Adhi sesha protect me from my anger.


द्वैपायनो भगवानप्रबोधा-द्बुद्धस्तु पाखण्डगणप्रमादात् ।
कल्किः कलेः कालमलात्प्रपातु धर्मावनायोरुकृतावतारः ॥ १९॥

Dwaipayano bhagwan aprabhodhad, Budhasthu pashanda ganath pramadhath,,
Kalki kale kala malath prapath, Dharma vanayoru kruthavathara., 19

ద్వైపాయనో భగవానప్రబోధా-ద్బుద్ధస్తు పాషండగణాత్ప్రమాదాత్ |
కల్కిః కలేః కాలమలాత్ప్రపాతు ధర్మావనాయోరుకృతావతారః || ౧౯ ||

ദ്വൈപായനോ ഭഗവാനപ്രബോധാദ് ബുദ്ധസ്തു പാഖണ്ഡഗണാത് പ്രമാദാത് ।
കല്കിഃ കലേ കാലമലാത് പ്രപാതു ധര്മാവനായോരൂകൃതാവതാരഃ ॥ 19 ॥

Meaning: Let Sage Vyasa protect me from lack of awakening,
Let sage Budha protect me from hypocrisy and ignorance,
Let Lord Kalki, who would be born to salvage Dharma,
Protect me from the evil effects and thoughts of Kali age.


मां केशवो गदया प्रातरव्या-द्गोविन्द आसङ्गवमात्तवेणुः ।
नारायणः प्राह्ण उदात्तशक्ति-र्मध्यन्दिने विष्णुररीन्द्रपाणिः ॥ २०॥

Maam kesavo gadhaya pratharavyad, Govinda aasangava aartha venu,
Narayana prahana udatha shakthir, Madhyandhine vishnurareendra pani., 20

మాం కేశవో గదయా ప్రాతరవ్యా-ద్గోవింద ఆసంగవమాత్తవేణుః |
నారాయణః ప్రాహ్ణ ఉదాత్తశక్తి-ర్మధ్యందినే విష్ణురరీంద్రపాణిః || ౨౦ ||

മാം കേശവോ ഗദയാ പ്രാതരവ്യാദ് ഗോവിന്ദ ആസങ്ഗവമാത്തവേണുഃ ।
നാരായണ പ്രാഹ്ണ ഉദാത്തശക്തിര്മധ്യന്ദിനേ വിഷ്ണുരരീന്ദ്രപാണിഃ ॥ 20 ॥

Meaning: May I be protected in the morn by Kesava with his mace,
May I be protected two hours later By Govinda by his flute,
Two more hours later let Lord Narayana protect by his strength,
And at noon let Lord Vishnu protect me his holy wheel.


देवोऽपराह्ने मधुहोग्रधन्वा सायं त्रिधामावतु माधवो माम् ।
दोषे हृषीकेश उतार्धरात्रे निशीथ एकोऽवतु पद्मनाभः ॥ २१॥

Devo aparahne Madhu hogra dhanwa, Sayam thridhamavathu Madhwao maam,
Doshe Hrishi kesa, uthardha rather, Niseedha yekovathu Padmanabha., 21

దేవోఽపరాహ్ణే మధుహోగ్రధన్వా సాయం త్రిధామా౽వతు మాధవో మామ్ |
దోషే హృషీకేశ ఉతార్ధరాత్రే నిశీథ ఏకోఽవతు పద్మనాభః || ౨౧ ||

ദേവോസ്പരാഹ്ണേ മധുഹോഗ്രധന്വാ സായം ത്രിധാമാവതു മാധവോ മാമ് ।
ദോഷേ ഹൃഷീകേശ ഉതാര്ധരാത്രേ നിശീഥ ഏകോസ്വതു പദ്മനാഭഃ ॥ 21 ॥

Meaning: After noon let me protected by Madhu with his great bow,
In the evening Let Madhwa in the form of trinity protect me,
Between dawn and midnight let Lord Hrishi kesa protect me,
And at midnight let Lord Padmanabha alone protect me.


श्रीवत्सधामापररात्र ईशः प्रत्यूष ईशोऽसिधरो जनार्दनः ।
दामोदरोऽव्यादनुसन्ध्यं प्रभाते विश्वेश्वरो भगवान् कालमूर्तिः ॥ २२॥

Srivathsa dhamaapara rathra eesa prathyoosha eesosidharo janardhana,
Dhamodharo avyad anusandhyam prabathe visweswaro bhagwan kala moorthi., 22

శ్రీవత్సధామా౽పరరాత్ర ఈశః ప్రత్యుష ఈశోఽసిధరో జనార్దనః |
దామోదరోఽవ్యాదనుసంధ్యం ప్రభాతే విశ్వేశ్వరో భగవాన్ కాలమూర్తిః || ౨౨ ||

ശ്രീവത്സധാമാപരരാത്ര ഈശഃ പ്രത്യൂഷ ഈശോ‌உസിധരോ ജനാര്ദനഃ ।
ദാമോദരോ‌உവ്യാദനുസന്ധ്യം പ്രഭാതേ വിശ്വേശ്വരോ ഭഗവാന് കാലമൂര്തിഃ॥ 22॥

Meaning: Let me protected by remaining part of the night,
By the Lord in whom Srivathsa lives,
Let me be protected just before dawn,
By Lord Janardhana who holds the sword,
Let me be protected at sun rise,
By Lord Damodara and just before morn,
Let Lord Visweshwara give me protection.


चक्रं युगान्तानलतिग्मनेमि भ्रमत्समन्ताद्भगवत्प्रयुक्तम् ।
दन्दग्धि दन्दग्ध्यरिसैन्यमाशु कक्षं यथा वातसखो हुताशः ॥ २३॥

Chakram yugantha analathigma nemi bhramath samanthad Bhagvath prayuktham,
Dandhagdhi dangdhyari sainya masu kaksham yadha vatha sakho huthasa., 23

చక్రం యుగాంతానలతిగ్మనేమి భ్రమత్సమంతాద్భగవత్ప్రయుక్తమ్ |
దందగ్ధి దందగ్ధ్యరిసైన్యమాశు కక్షం యథా వాతసఖో హుతాశః || ౨౩ ||

ചക്രം യുഗാന്താനലതിഗ്മനേമി ഭ്രമത് സമന്താദ് ഭഗവത്പ്രയുക്തമ് ।
ദന്ദഗ്ധി ദന്ദഗ്ധ്യരിസൈന്യമാസു കക്ഷം യഥാ വാതസഖോ ഹുതാശഃ ॥23॥

Meaning: Oh holy Wheel,your edges are like the raging fire of deluge,
You are sent by the God and rotate and travel everywhere,
And so like the fire with the help of wind,
Burns in to ashes the dried up wood of a forest,
Speedily and speedily burn and burn all my enemies.


गदेऽशनिस्पर्शनविस्फुलिङ्गे निष्पिण्ढि निष्पिण्ढ्यजितप्रियासि ।
कूष्माण्डवैनायकयक्षरक्षो-भूतग्रहांश्चूर्णय चूर्णयारीन् ॥ २४॥

Gadhe asani sparsana visphulinge nishpindi nishpindyajitha priyasi,
Koosmanda vainayaka yaksha raksho bhootha graham choornaya choornyarin., 24

గదేఽశనిస్పర్శనవిస్ఫులింగే నిష్పింఢి నిష్పింఢ్యజితప్రియాసి |
కూష్మాండవైనాయకయక్షరక్షో- భూతగ్రహాంశ్చూర్ణయ చూర్ణయారీన్ || ౨౪ ||

ഗദേ‌உശനിസ്പര്ശനവിസ്ഫുലിങ്ഗേ നിഷ്പിണ്ഢി നിഷ്പിണ്ഢ്യജിതപ്രിയാസി ।
കൂഷ്മാണ്ഡവൈനായകയക്ഷരക്ഷോഭൂതഗ്രഹാംശ്ചൂര്ണയ ചൂര്ണയാരീന് ॥24 ॥

Meaning: Oh mace, the spark raising touches of yours,
Are unbearable like the touch of Vajra,
And you are dear to the invincible lord and his servant,
And so please powder and powder again,
Evil spirits, Yakshas, Rakshasas and all my enemies.


त्वं यातुधानप्रमथप्रेतमातृ-पिशाचविप्रग्रहघोरदृष्टीन् ।
दरेन्द्र विद्रावय कृष्णपूरितो भीमस्वनोऽरेर्हृदयानि कम्पयन् ॥ २५॥

Thwam yathu dhana pramadha pretha mathru pisacha vipra graham gora drushteen,
Dharendra vidhravaya Krishna pooritho bhima swano arer hrudhayani kambhayan., 25

త్వం యాతుధానప్రమథప్రేతమాతృ-పిశాచవిప్రగ్రహఘోరదృష్టీన్ |
దరేంద్ర విద్రావయ కృష్ణపూరితో భీమస్వనోఽరేర్హృదయాని కంపయన్ || ౨౫ ||

ത്വം യാതുധാനപ്രമഥപ്രേതമാതൃപിശാചവിപ്രഗ്രഹഘോരദൃഷ്ടീന് ।
ദരേന്ദ്ര വിദ്രാവയ കൃഷ്ണപൂരിതോ ഭീമസ്വനോ‌உരേര്ഹൃദയാനി കമ്പയന് ॥ 25॥

Meaning: Oh Conch, when Lord Krishna blows in you,
You create a huge and loud Sound and confuse my enemies,
And drive away ghouls, devils, ghosts, Pramadhas,
Brahma Rakshas and other fearful beings.


त्वं तिग्मधारासिवरारिसैन्य-मीशप्रयुक्तो मम छिन्धि छिन्धि ।
चक्षूंषि चर्मञ्छतचन्द्र छादय द्विषामघोनां हर पापचक्षुषाम् ॥ २६॥

Thwam thigma dharasi varari sainyam eesa prayuktha mama chindhi, chindhi,
Chakshoomshi charman satha chandra chadhaya, Dwishamaghonaam hara papa chakshusham., 26

త్వం తిగ్మధారాసివరారిసైన్య-మీశప్రయుక్తో మమ ఛింధి ఛింధి |
చక్షూంషి చర్మన్ శతచంద్ర ఛాదయ ద్విషామఘోనాం హర పాప చక్షుషామ్ || ౨౬ ||

ത്വം തിഗ്മധാരാസിവരാരിസൈന്യമീശപ്രയുക്തോ മമ ഛിന്ധി ഛിന്ധി ।
ചര്മഞ്ഛതചന്ദ്ര ഛാദയ ദ്വിഷാമഘോനാം ഹര പാപചക്ഷുഷാമ് ॥ 26 ॥

Meaning: Oh holy sword, Be sent by the Lord himself,
And cut and cut my enemy army in to pieces,
Oh shield of the lord,shining like hundred moons,
Please make my enemies with full of sins look blind.


यन्नो भयं ग्रहेभ्योऽभूत्केतुभ्यो नृभ्य एव च ।
सरीसृपेभ्यो दंष्ट्रिभ्यो भूतेभ्योंऽहोभ्य एव च ॥ २७॥

Yanna bhayam grahebhyobhooth kethubhyo nrubhya eva cha,
Saree srupebhyo dhamshtribhyo bhoothabyohebhya yeva cha., 27

యన్నో భయం గ్రహేభ్యోఽభూత్కేతుభ్యో నృభ్య ఏవ చ |
సరీసృపేభ్యో దంష్ట్రిభ్యో భూతేభ్యోఘేభ్య ఏవ చ || ౨౭ ||

യന്നോ ഭയം ഗ്രഹേഭ്യോ ഭൂത് കേതുഭ്യോ നൃഭ്യ ഏവ ച ।
സരീസൃപേഭ്യോ ദംഷ്ട്രിഭ്യോ ഭൂതേഭ്യോം‌உഹോഭ്യ ഏവ വാ ॥ 27 ॥

सर्वाण्येतानि भगवन्नामरूपास्त्रकीर्तनात् ।
प्रयान्तु संक्षयं सद्यो ये नः श्रेयःप्रतीपकाः ॥ २८॥

Sarvanyethani bhagavan nama roopasthra keerthanath,
Prayanthu samkshayam sadhyo ye na sreya pratheepika., 28

సర్వాణ్యేతాని భగవన్నామరూపాస్త్రకీర్తనాత్ |
ప్రయాంతు సంక్షయం సద్యో యే మే శ్రేయఃప్రతీపకాః || ౨౮ ||

സര്വാണ്യേതാനി ഭഗന്നാമരൂപാസ്ത്രകീര്തനാത് ।
പ്രയാന്തു സംക്ഷയം സദ്യോ യേ നഃ ശ്രേയഃ പ്രതീപകാഃ ॥ 28 ॥

Meaning of 27 & 28: The fear that we have due to planets, comets, Kethu and kings,
The fear that we had from teethed serpents, ghosts and from sin,
And the fear that prevent our well being may all be destroyed,
Oh God, by the praise of your names and weapons.


गरुडो भगवान् स्तोत्रस्तोभश्छन्दोमयः प्रभुः ।
रक्षत्वशेषकृच्छ्रेभ्यो विष्वक्सेनः स्वनामभिः ॥ २९ ॥

Garudo Bhagawan sthothra sthobha chandho maya Prabhu,
Rakshathwa sesha kruchsrebhyo vishwaksena swa namabhi., 29

గరుడో భగవాన్ స్తోత్రస్తోభశ్ఛందోమయః ప్రభుః |
రక్షత్వశేషకృచ్ఛ్రేభ్యో విష్వక్సేనః స్వ నామభిః || ౨౯ ||

ഗരൂഡോ ഭഗവാന് സ്തോത്രസ്തോഭശ്ഛന്ദോമയഃ പ്രഭുഃ ।
രക്ഷത്വശേഷകൃച്ഛ്രേഭ്യോ വിഷ്വക്സേനഃ സ്വനാമഭിഃ ॥ 29 ॥

Meaning: The Garuda, who is being praised by great musical stotras of Vedas,
Who is a god and the lord of the world, may protect me from all troubles,
By singing of his names as well as that of the Lord Vishwak sena.


सर्वापद्भ्यो हरेर्नामरूपयानायुधानि नः ।
बुद्धीन्द्रियमनःप्राणान्पान्तु पार्षदभूषणाः ॥ ३०॥

Savapadbhyo harer nama roopayanaayudhani na.
Budheendriya mana praanan paanthu parshadha bhooshana., 30

సర్వాపద్భ్యో హరేర్నామరూపయానాయుధాని నః |
బుద్ధీంద్రియమనఃప్రాణాన్పాంతు పార్షదభూషణాః || ౩౦ ||

സര്വാപദ്ഭ്യോ ഹരേര്നാമരൂപയാനായുധാനി നഃ ।
ബുദ്ധിന്ദ്രിയമനഃ പ്രാണാന് പാന്തു പാര്ഷദഭൂഷണാഃ ॥ 30 ॥

Meaning: Let the names and forms of Vishnu, his steed,
His weapons, and important assistants may protect,
My mind, senses and soul, from all the dangers and sins.


यथा हि भगवानेव वस्तुतः सदसच्च यत् ।
सत्येनानेन नः सर्वे यान्तु नाशमुपद्रवाः ॥ ३१॥

Yadhahi bhagwan eva vasthutha sad sachayath,
Sathye nanena na sarve yanthu nasamupadrawa., 31

యథా హి భగవానేవ వస్తుతః సదసచ్చ యత్ |
సత్యేనానేన నః సర్వే యాంతు నాశముపద్రవాః || ౩౧ ||

യഥാ ഹി ഭഗവാനേവ വസ്തുതഃ സദ്സച്ച യത് ।
സത്യനാനേന നഃ സര്വേ യാന്തു നാശമുപാദ്രവാഃ ॥ 31 ॥

Meaning: The truth that God is all beings and things,
May destroy all the troubles that we face.


यथैकात्म्यानुभावानां विकल्परहितः स्वयम् ।
भूषणायुधलिङ्गाख्या धत्ते शक्तीः स्वमायया ॥ ३२॥

Yadaikathmanu bhavanam vikalpa rahitha swayam,
Bhooshanuyudha lingakhya dathe shakthi swa mayaya., 32

యథైకాత్మ్యానుభావానాం వికల్పరహితః స్వయమ్ |
భూషణాయుధలింగాఖ్యా ధత్తే శక్తీః స్వమాయయా || ౩౨ ||

യഥൈകാത്മ്യാനുഭാവാനാം വികല്പരഹിതഃ സ്വയമ് ।
ഭൂഷണായുദ്ധലിങ്ഗാഖ്യാ ധത്തേ ശക്തീഃ സ്വമായയാ ॥ 32 ॥

तेनैव सत्यमानेन सर्वज्ञो भगवान् हरिः ।
पातु सर्वैः स्वरूपैर्नः सदा सर्वत्र सर्वगः ॥ ३३॥

Thenaiva sathya manen sarvajno Bhagwan Hari,
Pathu sarvai swaroopairna sada sarvathra sarvaga., 33

తేనైవ సత్యమానేన సర్వజ్ఞో భగవాన్ హరిః |
పాతు సర్వైః స్వరూపైర్నః సదా సర్వత్ర సర్వగః || ౩౩ ||

തേനൈവ സത്യമാനേന സര്വജ്ഞോ ഭഗവാന് ഹരിഃ ।
പാതു സര്വൈഃ സ്വരൂപൈര്നഃ സദാ സര്വത്ര സര്വഗഃ ॥ 33 ॥

Meaning of 32 & 33: Those great savants who think, that God does not have any forms,
And his weapons and ornaments are only Symbols without power,
And due to this truth, the God Hari is everywhere,
And let him protect me always and everywhere.


विदिक्षु दिक्षूर्ध्वमधः समन्ता-दन्तर्बहिर्भगवान्नारसिंहः ।
प्रहापयँलोकभयं स्वनेन स्वतेजसा ग्रस्तसमस्ततेजाः ॥ ३४॥

Vidikshu dikshoordhwamadha Samantha anthar bahir bhagwan narasimha,
Praha bhayam loka bhayam swanena swathejasa grastha samastha theja., 34

విదిక్షు దిక్షూర్ధ్వమధః సమంతా-దంతర్బహిర్భగవాన్నారసింహః |
ప్రహాపయన్ లోకభయం స్వనేన స్వతేజసాగ్రస్తసమస్తతేజాః || ౩౪ ||

വിദിക്ഷു ദിക്ഷൂര്ധ്വമധഃ സമന്താദന്തര്ബഹിര്ഭഗവാന് നാരസിംഹഃ ।
പ്രഹാപയംല്ലോകഭയം സ്വനേന ഗ്രസ്തസമസ്തതേജാഃ ॥ 34 ॥

Meaning: Let the Lord Narasimha who due to his power,
Destroyed elephants, serpents and other beings
And saved Prahladha, and removed the fear of the world,,
Protect me in all directions and non directions,
Top and below, inside and outside and in all places.


मघवन्निदमाख्यातं वर्म नारायणात्मकम् ।
विजेष्यस्यञ्जसा येन दंशितोऽसुरयूथपान् ॥ ३५॥

Maghavan idham aakhyatham varma narayanathmakam,
Vijeshya syanjasa yena damsitho sura yoodhapan., 35

మఘవన్నిదమాఖ్యాతం వర్మ నారాయణాత్మకమ్ |
విజేష్యస్యంజసా యేన దంశితోఽసురయూథపాన్ || ౩౫ ||

മഘവന്നിദമാഖ്യാതം വര്മ നാരയണാത്മകമ് ।
വിജേഷ്യസ്യഞ്ജസാ യേന ദംശിതോ‌உസുരയൂഥപാന് ॥ 35 ॥

Meaning: Oh Indra, thus I have told you, the great armour of Narayana,
And using this you protect yourselves and easily,
Defeat the commanders of the army of Rakshasas.


एतद्धारयमाणस्तु यं यं पश्यति चक्षुषा ।
पदा वा संस्पृशेत्सद्यः साध्वसात्स विमुच्यते ॥ ३६॥

Yethad dharayamanasthu yam yam pasyathi chakshusha,
Pada vaa samsprusethsadhya saadvasath sa vimuchyathe., 36

ఏతద్ధారయమాణస్తు యం యం పశ్యతి చక్షుషా |
పదా వా సంస్పృశేత్సద్యః సాధ్వసాత్స విముచ్యతే || ౩౬ ||

ഏതദ് ധാരയമാണസ്തു യം യം പശ്യതി ചക്ഷുഷാ ।
പദാ വാ സംസ്പൃശേത് സദ്യഃ സാധ്വസാത് സ വിമുച്യതേ ॥ 36 ॥

Meaning: If he who wears his armour sees any one by his eyes,
Or even touches him by his feet, that man,
Would be able to get rid of all his fears.


न कुतश्चिद्भयं तस्य विद्यां धारयतो भवेत् ।
राजदस्युग्रहादिभ्यो व्याघ्रादिभ्यश्च कर्हिचित् ॥ ३७॥

Na kuthaschid bhayam thasya vidhyam dharayatho bhaved.,
Raja dasyu grahadhebhyo vyagradhibhyascha karhichith., 37

న కుతశ్చిద్భయం తస్య విద్యాం ధారయతో భవేత్ |
రాజదస్యుగ్రహాదిభ్యో వ్యాఘ్రాదిభ్యశ్చ కర్హిచిత్ || ౩౭ ||

ന കുതശ്ചിത ഭയം തസ്യ വിദ്യാം ധാരയതോ ഭവേത് ।
രാജദസ്യുഗ്രഹാദിഭ്യോ വ്യാഘ്രാദിഭ്യശ്ച കര്ഹിചിത് ॥ 37 ॥

Meaning: He who wears this armour will never have any fear,
From king, enemies, planets and animals like the tiger.


इमां विद्यां पुरा कश्चित्कौशिको धारयन् द्विजः ।
योगधारणया स्वाङ्गं जहौ स मरुधन्वनि ॥ ३८॥

Imam vidhyam pura kaschid kaushiko dharayan dwija,
Yogadharanaya swa angam jahow marudhanwani., 38

ఇమాం విద్యాం పురా కశ్చిత్కౌశికో ధారయన్ ద్విజః |
యోగధారణయా స్వాంగం జహౌ స మరుధన్వని || ౩౮ ||

ഇമാം വിദ്യാം പുരാ കശ്ചിത് കൗശികോ ധാരയന് ദ്വിജഃ ।
യോഗധാരണയാ സ്വാങ്ഗം ജഹൗ സ മരൂധന്വനി ॥ 38 ॥

Meaning: Long time ago, this knowledge was worn by a Brahmin,
From Koushika Gothra and he gave up his life in a desert


तस्योपरि विमानेन गन्धर्वपतिरेकदा ।
ययौ चित्ररथः स्त्रीभिर्वृतो यत्र द्विजक्षयः ॥ ३९ ॥

Thasyopari vimanena gandharwa pathi rekhadha,
Yayou chithra radha sthreebhir vrutho yathra dwijakshaya., 39

తస్యోపరి విమానేన గంధర్వపతిరేకదా |
యయౌ చిత్రరథః స్త్రీభిర్వృతో యత్ర ద్విజక్షయః || ౩౯ ||

തസ്യോപരി വിമാനേന ഗന്ധര്വപതിരേകദാ ।
യയൗ ചിത്രരഥഃ സ്ത്രീര്ഭിവൃതോ യത്ര ദ്വിജക്ഷയഃ ॥ 39 ॥

Meaning: A gandharwa called Chithra radha was travelling in a plane.
Along with his ladies, where the Brahmins body was lying.


गगनान्न्यपतत्सद्यः सविमानो ह्यवाक्शिराः ।
स वालखिल्यवचनादस्थीन्यादाय विस्मितः ।
प्रास्य प्राचीसरस्वत्यां स्नात्वा धाम स्वमन्वगात् ॥ ४०॥

Gagamam anya pada sadhya savimano hyavak sira,
Sa balakhilya vachanad asthhenyadhya vismitha,
Prasya prachee saraswathyam snathwa dhama swa manwagadh., 40

గగనాన్న్యపతత్సద్యః సవిమానో హ్యవాక్షిరాః |
స వాలఖిల్యవచనాదస్థీన్యాదాయ విస్మితః |
ప్రాస్య ప్రాచీ సరస్వత్యాం స్నాత్వా ధామ స్వమన్వగాత్ || ౪౦ ||

ഗഗനാന്ന്യപതത് സദ്യഃ സവിമാനോ ഹ്യവാക് ശിരാഃ ।
സ വാലഖില്യവചനാദസ്ഥീന്യാദായ വിസ്മിതഃ ।
പ്രാസ്യ പ്രാചീസരസ്വത്യാം സ്നാത്വാ ധാമ സ്വമന്വഗാത് ॥ 40 ॥

Meaning: At that spot his plane stopped and he fell there along with his ladies,
And he was perplexed and was advised by the sages called Balakhilya,
And obeying their advice, took the bones of the Brahmin,
And put it in the river Saraswathi, took bath and went back to his home.


श्रीशुक उवाच ।

य इदं श‍ृणुयात्काले यो धारयति चादृतः ।
तं नमस्यन्ति भूतानि मुच्यते सर्वतो भयात् ॥ ४१॥

Ya idham srunuyath kale yo dharayathi chadhrutha,
Tham namasyanthi bhoohani muchyathe sarvatho bhayath., 41

య ఇదం శృణుయాత్కాలే యో ధారయతి చాదృతః |
తం నమస్యంతి భూతాని ముచ్యతే సర్వతో భయాత్ || ౪౧ ||

യ ഇദം ശൃണുയാത് കാലേ യോ ധാരയതി ചാദൃതഃ ।
തം നമസ്യന്തി ഭൂതാനി മുച്യതേ സര്വതോ ഭയാത് ॥ 41 ॥

Meaning: He who wears or hears this armour of Narayana,
Would be saluted by all beings and he would get rid of all fears.


एतां विद्यामधिगतो विश्वरूपाच्छतक्रतुः ।
त्रैलोक्यलक्ष्मीं बुभुजे विनिर्जित्य मृधेऽसुरान् ॥ ४२॥

Yetham vidhyamadhi gatho viswaroopa chatha kruthu,
Trilokya lakshmeem bubhuje vinirjithya mrude asuran., 42

ఏతాం విద్యామధిగతో విశ్వరూపాచ్ఛతక్రతుః |
త్రైలోక్యలక్ష్మీం బుభుజే వినిర్జిత్య మృధేఽసురాన్ || ౪౨ ||

ഏതാം വിദ്യാമധിഗതോ വിശ്വരൂപാച്ഛതക്രതുഃ ।
ത്രൈലോക്യലക്ഷ്മീം ബുഭുജേ വിനിര്ജിത്യ‌உമൃധേസുരാന് ॥ 42 ॥

Meaning: Learning this knowledge from Viswaroopa, Indra,
Won in the battle over all asuras and,
Got the blessings of wealth of the three worlds.


॥ इति श्रीमद्भागवतमहापुराणे पारमहंस्यां संहितायां षष्ठस्कन्धे नारायणवर्मकथनं नामाष्टमोऽध्यायः ॥

Meaning: Thus ends the Narayana Kavacham stotram.
