नमस्ते शरण्ये शिवे सानुकम्पे
नमस्ते जगद्‍व्यापिके विश्वरूपे ।

Meaning: I Invoke the Power and Grace of Shakti in the form of Durga
alutations to You, O the giver of Refuge; (Salutations to You) O the Consort of Shiva; (Salutations to You) Who is Compassionate towards us,
Salutations to You, Who pervade the whole Universe (as the Conscious Shakti); (Salutations to You) Whose Form is the Universe Itself,
Salutations to You, Whose Lotus Feet is Adored by the whole World (either through Image or other forms of Shakti),
Salutations to You, Who make us Cross this World (of Samsara) (by the touch of Her Power and Conscious Form);
O Mother Durga, (O Mother Shakti), Please Protect me (in this World) (of Samsara).

नमस्ते महायोगिविज्ञानरूपे ।

Meaning: Salutations to You, Whose Essential Nature (Svarupa) is Meditated upon by the World (by the seekers of Liberation),
Salutations to You, Whose Divine Nature is revealed as Knowledge to the great Yogis (on whom She showers Her highest Grace),
Salutations to You, Salutations to You, (O Mother), (I Reflect on Your) Eternal Blissful Form (revealed to the Yogis),
Salutations to You, Who make us Cross this World (of Samsara) (by the touch of Her Power and Conscious Form);
O Mother Durga, (O Mother Shakti), Please Protect me (in this World) (of Samsara).


अनाथस्य दीनस्य तृष्णातुरस्य
भयार्तस्य भीतस्य बद्धस्य जन्तोः ।
त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तारकर्त्री
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥३॥

Anaathasya Diinasya Trssnna-[A]aturasya
Bhayaartasya Bhiitasya Baddhasya Jantoh |
Tvam-Ekaa Gatir-Devi Nistaara-Kartrii
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||3||

Meaning: (O Mother) (You are the Refuge of those) having no Refuge; (You are the Refuge of those) depressed in Life (by various afflictions); (You are the Refuge of those) afflicted by (Spiritual) Thirst (to cross over this World) (of Samsara),
(You are the Refuge of those) distressed by (various lurking) Fears in Life; (You are the Refuge of those) greatly Frightened (by this Life); (You are the Refuge of those) bound (by various attachments in Life); (You are the Refuge of all) Living Beings,
You alone are the real Refuge, O Devi; You alone are the Power of Deliverance (from this Samsara).

अरण्ये रणे दारुणे शत्रुमध्ये
जले सङ्कटे राजगेहे प्रवाते ।
त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तार हेतुर्
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥४॥

Arannye Ranne Daarunne Shatru-Madhye
Jale Sangkatte Raaja-Gehe Pravaate |
Tvam-Ekaa Gatir-Devi Nistaara Hetur
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||4||

Meaning: (O Mother) (You are the Protector) In the midst of Forest, (You are the Protector) In the midst of Battlefield, (You are the Protector) In the midst of Frightful Situations (of Life) and (You are the Protector) In the midst of Enemies,
(You are the Protector) In the midst of Water, (You are the Protector) In the midst of various Dangers (of Life), (You are the Protector) Inside the King’s Palace and (You are the Protector) In the midst of Storm,
You Alone are the real Refuge, O Devi; You are the Cause of Deliverance (from the various Dangers of this Samsara),
Salutations to You, Who make us Cross this World (of Samsara) (by the touch of Her Power and Conscious Form);
O Mother Durga, (O Mother Shakti), Please Protect me (in this World) (of Samsara).


अपारे महदुस्तरेऽत्यन्तघोरे
विपत् सागरे मज्जतां देहभाजाम् ।
त्वमेका गतिर्देवि निस्तारनौका
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥५॥

Apaare Maha-Dustare-[A]tyanta-Ghore
Vipat Saagare Majjataam Dehabhaajaam |
Tvam-Ekaa Gatir-Devi Nistaara-Naukaa
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||5||

Meaning: (O Mother) (You are the Rescuer) In this Shoreless (Ocean of Samsara), which is very difficult to Cross and very Frightful,
Falling into which Ocean the Living Beings Sink (into its fathomless depth),
You Alone are the Rescuer, O Devi; You are the Rescuing Boat of Deliverance,
Salutations to You, Who make us Cross this World (of Samsara) (by the touch of Her Power and Conscious Form);
O Mother Durga, (O Mother Shakti), Please Protect me (in this World) (of Samsara).


नमश्चण्डिके चण्डोर्दण्डलीला
समुत्खण्डिता खण्डलाशेषशत्रोः ।
त्वमेका गतिर्विघ्नसन्दोहहर्त्री
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥६॥

Namash-Cannddike Cannddor-Danndda-Liilaa
Samut-Khanndditaa Khannddala-Ashessa-Shatroh |
Tvam-Ekaa Gatir-Vighna-Sandoha-Hartrii
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||6||

Meaning: Salutations to You, O Chandika, Who unleashed the terrible Play of Punishment on demons Chanda (and Munda in the battlefield),
Cutting (to Pieces) and leaving behind endless Pieces of Enemies (in the battlefield),
You alone are the Refuge, O Devi; You are the Destroyer of the multitude of Impediments (springing up like enemies in our lives),
Salutations to You, Who make us Cross this World (of Samsara) (by the touch of Her Power and Conscious Form);
O Mother Durga, (O Mother Shakti), Please Protect me (in this World) (of Samsara).


त्वमेका सदाराधिता सत्यवादि_
न्यनेकाखिलाऽक्रोधना क्रोधनिष्ठा ।
इडा पिङ्ला त्वं सुषुम्ना  नाडी
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥७॥

Tvam-Ekaa Sadaa-[Aa]raadhitaa Satya-Vaadi_
Nya[i-A]neka-Akhilaa-Akrodhanaa Krodha-Nisstthaa |
Iddaa Pinglaa Tvam Sussumnaa Ca Naaddii
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||7||

Meaning: (Congratulations to you, O Devi) You Alone have been served as a Proclaimer of Truth (Raising Dharma on the outside and Awakening Spiritual Awareness within),
Takes Many Forms and Fills the World; You are not really angry but you are fighting with anger and stubbornness (destroying various enemies),
He is the Revival of Ida, Pingala and Sushumna Nadi; (You are the Awakening of Kundalini, O Devi),
Greetings to You, Who Makes Us Cross the Earth (Samsung) (by touching His Power and Awareness Form);
O Mama Durga, (O Mama Shakti), Please Protect Me (on This Earth) (of Samsara).


नमो देवि दुर्गे शिवे भीमनादे
सदासर्वसिद्धिप्रदातृस्वरूपे ।
विभूतिः सतां कालरात्रिस्वरूपे
नमस्ते जगत्तारिणि त्राहि दुर्गे ॥८॥

Namo Devi Durge Shive Bhiima-Naade
Sadaa-Sarva-Siddhi-Pradaatr-Svaruupe |
Vibhuutih Sataam Kaalaraatri-Svaruupe
Namaste Jagat-Taarinni Traahi Durge ||8||

Meaning: Greetings to You, O Devi Durga, (Congratulations to You) O Consort of Shiva, (Congratulations to You) O You (Meet the Enemies) with a Great Roar,
(Congratulations to You) Whose Nature is to give all kinds of Siddhis (Accompositions) to devotees,
(Servants to You) which is a manifestation of great power and Beauty, and is like the Night of Destruction (Enemy) (symbolizing Ego and Adharma),
8.4: Greetings to You, Who Makes Us Cross the Earth (of Samsara) (by touching His Power and Understanding);
O Mama Durga, (O Mama Shakti), Please Protect Me (on This Earth) (of Samsara).


शरणमसि सुराणां सिद्धविद्याधराणां
मुनिमनुजपशूनां दस्युभिस्त्रासितानाम् ।
नृपतिगृहगतानां व्याधिभिः पीडितानां
त्वमसि शरणमेका देवि दुर्गे प्रसीद ॥९॥

Sharannam-Asi Suraannaam Siddha-Vidyaadharaannaam
Muni-Manuja-Pashuunaam Dasyubhis-Traasitaanaam |
Nrpati-Grha-Gataanaam Vyaadhibhih Piidditaanaam
Tvam-Asi Sharannam-Ekaa Devi Durge Prasiida ||9||

Meaning: (Congratulations to you, O Devi) You are the refuge of Suras (Devas), (You are the refuge of Se) Siddhas and Vidyadharas,
(You Are Their Refuge) Munis (Criminals), Manujas (Human Creatures) and Pus (Animals); (You are a refuge for those) You were terrified by Dashyus (The robbers),
(You are a Refuge for those) sent (improperly) to the Prison of Kings (i.e. Imprisoned Unjustly); (You are the Refuge of those) You suffer from various diseases,
(You) only (true) Refuge, O Devi Durga; Please be Propitious for us.


इदं स्तोत्रं मया प्रोक्तमापदुद्धारहेतुकम् ।
त्रिसन्ध्यमेकसन्ध्यं वा पठनाद्घोरसङ्कटात् ॥१०॥

Idam Stotram Mayaa Proktam-Aapad-Uddhaara-Hetukam |
Tri-Sandhyam-Eka-Sandhyam Vaa Patthanaad-Ghora-Sangkattaat ||10||

Meaning: (Maheshvara tells if) This Stotra proclaimed by me for the purpose of rescuing Disasters,
By repeating (this Stotra) during the three phases of the Day (Sandhyas) (Morning, Day and Evening) or (even) simultaneously (Sandhya), (man is released) from great dangers.


मुच्यते नात्र सन्देहो भुवि स्वर्गे रसातले ।
सर्वं वा श्लोकमेकं वा यः पठेद्भक्तिमान् सदा ॥११॥

Mucyate Na-Atra Sandeho Bhuvi Svarge Rasaatale |
Sarvam Vaa Shlokam-Ekam Vaa Yah Patthed-Bhaktimaan Sadaa ||11||

Meaning: Man is delivered (from great danger) to Earth, Heaven or hell; there is no doubt in this,
By repeating a complete Stotra or a single Sloka (for Stotra) and regularly (Devi meditation), Devotee (released from Dangers).


 सर्वं दुष्कृतं त्यक्त्वा प्राप्नोति परमं पदम् ।
पठनादस्य देवेशि किं  सिद्ध्यति भूतले ॥१२॥

Sa Sarvam Dusskrtam Tyaktvaa Praapnoti Paramam Padam |
Patthanaad-Asya Deveshi Kim Na Siddhyati Bhuutale ||12||

Meaning: (Moreover) He (or He) having given up all sinful (mental) tendencies, finds the High Foot (of the Devi),
By repeating this Stotra, O Deves, what has not been done on Earth?


स्तवराजमिदं देवि संक्षेपात्कथितं मया ॥१३॥

Stava-Raajam-Idam Devi Samkssepaat-Kathitam Mayaa ||13||

Meaning: This Stavas king (Hymn of Eulogy) (such is its glory), O Devi, is narrated by me briefly here (which brings great blessings to the lives of devotees).


॥ इति श्रीसिद्धेश्वरीतन्त्रे उमामहेश्वरसंवादे श्रीदुर्गापदुद्धारस्तोत्रं सम्पूर्णम् ॥

|| Iti Shrii-Siddheshvarii-Tantre Umaa-Maheshvara-Samvaade Shrii-Durgaa-[A]pad-Uddhaara-Stotram Sampuurnnam ||
